Electrical Engineer - EO/IR

5+ Years – On Site – Full-Time

Envision Technology, an innovative small business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense applications, seeks an Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for schematic design, layout, integration, and test of complex electro-optical systems mainly used for defense applications.

Responsibilities:

· Collaborate in all stages of development, from conceptual architectures to detailed design, through system integration and manufacturing support.

· Work on a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Most design teams consist of mechanical, software, systems, optical engineers, and a program manager.

· Aid in the evaluation of designs through simulation, prototype testing and requirement verification.

· Detailed schematic design including:

o Efficient power supply design for battery operated systems
o FPGA and microcontroller design
o Size Weight and Power trade studies
o High speed data transmission
o Experience with laser driver circuits is a plus
o Experience with Orcad schematic capture is a plus

· Detailed layout design including:
o Proper component placement
o High density routing techniques including stacked micro via architectures
o EMC best practices
o Generate documentation for quote and procurement.
o Working with vendors to generate stackups and answer technical questions
o Experience with Allegro PCB is a plus

· Troubleshoot design failure modes to root cause and develop quick, effective solutions.

· Provide production/ manufacturing support, as needed.

· Support customer program reviews.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with 5-7 years of relevant work experience.

· Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced development environment.

· Hands-on experience with system integration, debug, and test, including basic soldering skills and test equipment use.

· Experience with electrical design principles for surviving a military environment.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Excellent organization skills and the ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and other external personnel.
