Position Summary
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be working alongside a collaborative team, you will help develop and deliver the high quality products and innovative solutions that define Envision Technology.
Envision Technology, an innovative business developing and producing advanced electro-optical systems and Unmanned Modular Systems (UMS) for defense and law enforcement applications, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to support its Fort Bragg, North Carolina facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design, layout, integration, and test of various systems and subsystems for defense applications. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Create innovative new product designs from concept, through research & design, and into production.
- Design architecture and accessories for multiple UxS and CUxS platforms; define subsystems for other disciplines.
- Interface with others in a fast-paced, multi-discipline environment, including electrical, software, program managers, suppliers, and customers.
- Evaluate designs through simulation, prototype testing and requirement verification.
- Troubleshoot design failure modes to root cause and develop quick, effective solutions.
- Apply strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges.
- Provide support to production, as needed.
- Generate associated documentation including detail drawings, assembly drawings, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience, with 2+ years of experience designing small, rugged mechanisms. RC vehicle experience is a plus.
- Proficient with CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on experience with system integration and test.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and other external personnel.
- Experience with design principles and testing for a rugged environment.

- Brief travel within the US to customer locations may be required occasionally to support product testing or design reviews.
- The new hire is required to travel to Manchester, NH for onboarding and specific training, for a period of no less than one week and up to two weeks.
