Electrical Engineer

2-4 Years – On Site – Full-Time

Envision Technology, an innovative business developing and producing advanced electro-optical systems and Unmanned Modular Systems (UMS) for defense and law enforcement applications, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its UMS division. In this role, you are responsible for the electrical design, layout, integration, and test of sUAS systems, subsystems, and test platforms for defense applications.

Responsibilities:

• Create innovative new product designs from concept, through research & development, and into production and conduct electrical design architecture studies.

• Establish overall electrical architecture for multiple unmanned systems.

• Interface with others in a fast-paced, multi-discipline environment, including mechanical, software, systems, program managers, suppliers, and customers.

• Detailed schematic design including:

o Battery operated systems

o Power/signal analysis

o Motor Control

o Analog and digital circuit design

o High speed data transmission

o EMC best practices

• Component placement layout with emphasis on high-density, low SWaP applications.

• Evaluate designs through simulation, prototype testing and requirement verification.

• Troubleshoot design failure modes to root cause and develop quick, effective solutions.

• Provide support to production, as needed.

• Generate associated documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with 2-4 years of relevant work experience.

• Willingness and eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced development environment.

• Familiarity with ECAD tools for schematic capture, layout (e.g. Orcad, Allegro) and system simulation.

• Hands-on experience with system integration, debugging, and test, including basic soldering skills and test equipment use.

• Experience with electrical design principles and testing for a military environment, particularly analog & digital designs for compact, electro-optical systems which are generally battery-operated is a plus.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and other external personnel.

• Ability to move up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information:

• Brief travel within the US to customer locations may be required occasionally to support product testing or design reviews.
