Environmental Test Technician

2+ Years – On Site – Full-Time

Envision Technology, an innovative small business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense applications, seeks a Firearm & Environmental Test Technician. This position will be responsible for conducting in-production and conformance tests on Envision’s products, including Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), Immersion, and Weapon Shock testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute MIL-STD-810G/H environmental tests.
  • Set up and operate environmental chambers, immersion tanks and vibration systems.
  • Follow established procedures and work instructions to execute tests and operational checks.
  • Manage multiple technical tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with production, engineers and marketing teams to support special testing needs.
  • Assist with the implementation of specialized test equipment and test procedures.
  • Maintain required weapons documentation in accordance with ATF and DSS regulations.
  • Conduct environmental stress screening testing in accordance with written work instructions, including immersion testing to verify water tightness as required.
  • Perform production live-fire testing in accordance with work instructions.
  • Conduct engineering live-fire testing per Engineering guidelines.
  • Perform quality conformance live fire testing of electro-optical weapon mounted systems per applicable procedures and specifications.
  • Operate thermal Chambers for ESS and conformance testing and document the results.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working on a live fire range preferred.
  • Military and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with AR10 and AR15 platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with firearms maintenance or armorer experience.
  • Familiarity with weapon accessories is preferred.
  • Familiarity programming Thermal Chambers and Vibration Tables preferred.
  • Completion of a gunsmithing course, weapons safety courses, or ability to obtain a concealed carry permit preferred.
  • Familiarity with Weapon Shock Simulators and mechanical aptitude for component changes preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
