Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Internship – On Site – Full-Time

Envision Technology, an innovative business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense and law enforcement applications, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for our 2026 Summer Internship Program. In this role, you are responsible for providing engineers with support, diagnostics, repair, maintenance and assembly of products The Internship Program is approximately three months long, spanning from the mid/end of May to the mid/end of August.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within multidiscipline teams (Electrical, Optical, Mechanical Engineers, Business Development, Program Management, etc.) to assist with new/existing product design activities.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineers in all aspects of process development, including work instructions, fixturing, floor layout, line setup and time studies.
  • Collaborate with Production Staff to develop assembly tools and fixtures.
  • Make recommendations for improvements in products, processes, work instructions, parts or test plans as applicable.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of failed systems.
  • Able to work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, engineering sketches, plans, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Keep engineering, quality and operations management informed of recurring or new trends in process yield and participate actively in resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, operations, quality and program management to meet program goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Engineering, with an anticipated graduation year of 2026, 2027 or 2028
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks for part and assembly modeling
  • Basic skills or familiarity with any of the following is a plus:
    • Mechanical component assembly
    • Machine shop skills
    • 3D Printing
    • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to interact with customers, suppliers, and other external personnel.
