Envision Technology, an innovative small business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense applications, is seeking hands-on, detail-oriented Buyer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in small, fast growing company environment where collaboration, flexibility, and initiative are key. In this role, you are responsible for the procurement lifecycle from evaluating quotes, negotiating price, and maintaining supplier relationships, on-time delivery of raw material, components, and services including planning material requirements to meet production, operational and program management requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to diversify and strengthen the supply base, ensuring alignment with quality, cost, and delivery goals to support company growth.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to ensure cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with program management to support gathering of request for quote (RFQ) data for cost analysis.
• Manage part maintenance by adding new parts, updating part revisions, cost, preferred supplier, lead times, and other attributes to ensure accurate part data to support production planning and program management.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements in the purchasing process.
• Track orders and confirm system lead times, delivery dates, and costs.
• Ensure timely delivery of items and follow up with suppliers on late orders while updating internal stakeholders.
• Support Accounts Payable as needed to reconcile any invoice discrepancies.
• Analyze total demand and generate production schedules and release work orders to support production builds.
• Assist in inventory management tasks such as performing regular cycle counts, maintaining orderly and efficient stockroom organization, and ensuring accurate tracking of inventory levels in alignment with company procedures.
• Participate in and lead special initiatives focused on improving company operations, including process optimization, system enhancements, and performance improvement efforts.
• Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in business, supply chain management, economics, or related field or 5+ years’ experience in purchasing, buying, and/or planning.
• Ability to adapt and thrive when priorities change all while managing time efficiently.
• Aptitude to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and procedures within a manufacturing organization.
• Efficient working in a system driven Material Requirements Planning (MRP) environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of INFOR Visual, a plus.
• Experience working in the defense industry, a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
